We can like a personality for various reasons, including their charisma, their background, their ideas, etc.

But we should not worship them. Especially since no one is perfect. No one is infallible.

Furthermore, we too have our own brains, hearts, life experiences and talents that God has given us.

We must use them. We must do so critically, i.e. methodically, rigorously and thoughtfully.

We are not helping anyone by failing to think critically. We are not helping the leaders we follow if we are not vigilant, demanding and clear-headed.

The sleep of reason breeds monsters. These monsters can be despotic leaders or socio-political disasters such as wars.

Let us be alert. Let us be lucid.
