In a country like Cameroon, many things fail less because of a lack of intelligence… and more because of a lack of rigor.
We want to change the country.
We want to transform institutions.
We want to build strong organizations.
But too often, we neglect the details.
Yet, details reveal the seriousness of a person or a project.
👉🏽 A meeting that starts on time.
👉🏽 A well-prepared session.
👉🏽 A carefully reviewed document.
👉🏽 A promise that is kept.
👉🏽 Verified information.
👉🏽 Clearly assigned responsibilities.
Trust is built through these small things.
Being a leader of a family, a group, an organization, or a citizen movement is not only about speaking loudly, mobilizing people, or giving instructions.
It is also about learning to pay attention.
Attention:
– to other people’s time;
– to the quality of the work;
– to commitments made;
– to the consequences of negligence;
– to the impact of repeated small mistakes.
Meticulousness is not an unhealthy obsession with control.
It is a form of respect.
Respect:
✓ for people;
✓ for the mission;
✓ for resources;
✓ for one’s word;
✓ for the collective project.
Great transformations do not always begin with great speeches.
They often begin with small disciplines repeated consistently every single day.
You cannot build a strong nation with carelessness.
You cannot build a credible organization in permanent disorder.
You cannot prepare change with negligent habits.
A citizen who wants to transform their country must learn to do things carefully… even when nobody is watching.
Because in the end, the way we handle small things often reveals how we will handle bigger responsibilities.
